As the CEO of Planned Parenthood Northern California I worked closely with Stacy Lee Gardner for many years as, of course, her direct supervisor. As a trusted member of our senior leadership she worked closely with me, her staff, her colleagues and our Board of Trustees to move us through multiple stages of growth in our organization. We radically increased our Fundraising in kind and scope utilizing greater community connections as we added more counties and grew in size. Her flexibility and ability to work quickly to deal with new challenges and opportunities always impressed me. The occasionally controversial nature of our work required sensitivity that she has in abundance. I relied on Stacy’s excellent relationships with key constituents, both internal and external. She has a sense of humor, honesty… with diplomacy, thoughtfulness and is an extraordinary writer. My CEO role and priorities needed to shift and change as our organization evolved and Stacy gave me good feedback and advice. I relied on for many years on her high level of professionalism and expertise.
I hired Stacy to be a key part of the delivery team on a complex multi-year, multi-national engagement my company led for an global tech company. I was fortunate to have her on the team for a period of over two years and found that the trust I placed in her was well-deserved. Her clients regularly reported to me that they were satisfied with the leadership coaching Stacy provided and perhaps more importantly, that they were experiencing real, measurable results. In fact, many achieved major career goals while working with Stacy on this project. In addition to the work Stacy performed 1:1 with our coaching clients, Stacy also co-created and delivered with me multiple workshops to diverse client groups; these workshops ranged from 90 minute to daylong, virtual to in-person, in the US and in Europe. I enjoyed working with Stacy in this capacity as she was frequently able to bring a very different, yet complimentary, perspective to mine that in the end resulted in an improved product. I highly recommend her!
I had the pleasure of being Stacy Lee Gardner’s colleague at Planned Parenthood for several years. She was truly and inspiration to work with. She is a strong leader with excellent communication skills. She did an amazing job leading our capital campaign. She was innovative, built a strong department and good systems thinker. She knows how to bring people together to reach a common goal. I highly recommend Stacy for any leadership or development position. She also did some mediation and team building work with another department with excellent results.
Stacy is an incredible fundraising consultant. She supported my agency with a multichannel year-end campaign and provided everything we needed, soup to nuts, to be successful. I was impressed with her professionalism, humor, and fundraising acumen. I’d definitely recommend her and would love to work with her again!
Stacy is a skilled and experienced development professional with a real gift for developing clear goals and strategies in a way that is mindful of both the bottom line and the bigger picture. I’ve been pleased to work with Stacy as a coaching client, as well as extensively with capital campaign implementation and major gift work. Her expertise is a boon to any small development shop with a big vision to implement – and she is a delight to work with!
I had the pleasure of working closely with Stacy when she was Senior Vice President for Development at Planned Parenthood Northern California — and saw her in action with the CEO, board members, donors, her peers and the team she supervised.
Stacy is a very experienced development professional with deep skills in all areas of a philanthropy program — from capital campaigns and individual/institutional giving to direct response fundraising. She is a collaborative leader/mentor/teacher who builds and supports strong teams. She is respected by high-level volunteers.
Stacy is innovative, focused, and works well with others, including those with challenging personalities. She is a woman of integrity, an effective strategist who rolls up her sleeves, and as a plus, is fun to work with.
I highly recommend her…
